Canadian company CubaHeal has signed an agreement with the Comercializadora de Servicios Médicos Cubanos S.A. (SMC). The economic association involves the administration of the Frank Pais (CCOI) ORTOP Aparthotel.
The International Economic Association agreement links the health and services business sector with foreign capital. It determines the use of the ORTOP Aparthotel as a student residence for either academic or assistance lodging.
CubaHeal is a Canadian corporation with its head office located in Markham, Ontario. The company is affiliated with Cubaheal Caribbean, Cubaheal MENA (the Middle East and North Africa), and the travel agency EcoCuba Pro.
Dr. Yamila de Armas Águila, president of the SMC and Wael Saad Eddin Gharbiyeh, president of CubaHeal, signed the partnership agreement.
Also present at the signing ceremony were First Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Ana Teresita González Fraga; the Deputy Ministers of Health, Dr. Regla Angulo Pardo and Luis Fernando Navarro Martínez; the Director of CCOI Frank País; Dr. Roberto González Martínez and the Director of North Africa and the Middle East of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Héctor Igarza.
Cubaheal has long been interested in expanding the services of the student residence at the Frank País Aparthotel. The corporation also plans to offer wellness and quality of life programs for seniors and services for medical tourism patients.
