China Donates More than $100M and Signs for New Projects

“We are not alone,” declared Minister Rodrigo Malmierca after a donation of 800 million Renminbi (100 million dollars plus) was made by China to Cuba.

The donation was formalized by an Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation that Malmierca signed with Zhou Liujun, vice president of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA).

“After working with Zhou Liujun, vice president of the China International Development Cooperation Agency, we signed several documents for new projects, especially the donation agreement of 800 million renminbi. We are not alone,” Malmierca published on his Twitter account.

According to the Cubadebate website, the parties also signed the agreements related to three projects that will contribute to the work of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources for confronting drought and sanitation, as well as for the acquisition of a telepresence system for BioCubaFarma.

A third donation will allow Cuba to acquire new transmitters and other equipment to provide greater coverage of the digital television signal throughout the national territory.
