Officials of Cuba and Russia have signed a trade and economic agreement until 2030. Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and Cuban Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Ricardo Cabrisas signed the agreement.
The document provides for expanding cooperation in trade, economic and scientific-technical spheres, to stimulate the growth of trade and investments, as well as strengthening ties between business communities, creating conditions for effective exchanges between enterprises of the two countries.
The officials also discussed several bilateral projects including the construction of solar stations in Cuba, a full-cycle agro-industrial enterprise for the cultivation and processing of sugar cane, fertilizer production, as well as various infrastructure projects.
Dmitry Chernyshenko said of the deal, “We pay priority attention to the consideration of issues of ensuring stable supplies of oil, oil products, wheat and fertilizers, which are extremely important for the Cuban side. The priority direction for the development of bilateral economic relations should be the creation of favorable conditions for Russian investments in the Cuban economy.”
