Cuba Solidarity Forum Ireland Fundraising Efforts for the Cuban Health System

The Cuba Solidarity Forum Ireland (CSFI) is fundraising to send medical aid to the Hermanos Ameijeiras Hospital in Havana and is seeking partners in the project.

The organization is working to send a significant amount of medical equipment to help make up for the shortages affecting the Cuban health system that are a result of United States’ sanctions.

CSFI plans to host a raffle and are looking for donations for prizes (preferably Cuban- themed). If you could help in any way it would be much appreciated.

The CSFI is committed to campaigning against the illegal and inhuman blockade imposed on Cuba by the U.S. Their mission is to galvanize expressions of solidarity across Ireland into concrete acts, to break the blockade by delivering material aid to the people of Cuba.

Through their partnership with the Hermanos Ameijeiras Hospital in Havana, they are delivering both medical equipment and supplies directly to the health service. CSFI is liaising with Dr. Jose Antonio Copo Jorge, Chief of Transplant Services at the Hospital.

The Cuba Solidarity Form also runs a Red Bag for Cuba Initiative encouraging individuals or groups travelling from Ireland to Cuba to deliver medical supplies to their partners in Havana.

The organization now has a much more ambitious project, shipping desparatel needed medical equipment in container ships to the Island.

CSFI is currently organizing huge bulk shipments of vital medical equipment to Cuba. In the context of the devastating effects of the blockade, these shipments are life saving. The organization needs the help of partner organizations and all individuals who support the Unblock Cuba campaign, to help raise the necessary funding so more aid can be delivered in the quantities and with the urgency required.
