Today, a Cuban business delegation consisting of the main players of the commercial sector met with French companies in the France-Cuba Business Forum organized by MEDEF International in Paris. The event follows closely on the affirmation of positive relations between Cuba and the European Union.
The Cuban trade delegation’s agenda was led by Celia Labora, Director of International Relations at Cuba’s Chamber of Commerce. French companies, large and small, had the opportunity to learn more about investing in Cuba in the current economic context on the Island.
MEDEF International was founded in 1989 to enhance the presence of French companies in the world, most especially in developing countries. The meetings will cover the economy, commerce, industry, logistics, health, and the agricultural food sectors.
The Cuban delegation will also participate in the 35th edition of the Salon Espace Collectivités in Le Bourget on the outskirts of Paris. This event takes place tomorrow until September 13 and features Cuba as this year’s guest of honor.
Salon Espace Collectivités is a major trade show which brings together big businesses in France, key decision-makers, elected representatives and institutional actors.
Thursday’s agenda will include the opening of the Cuban exhibit “Cuba, Attractions and Economic Potential.”
Attendees of the France-Cuba Business Forum have the opportunity to discuss with the Cuban authorities available investment projects and possible difficulties in Cuba, especially in terms of funding.
French executives who are member companies of MEDEF International have the chance to interview business leaders of the Cuban delegation.
France is among Cuba’s top ten trading partners and is committed to diversifying its relations with the Caribbean Island.
