The Chinese company Great Wall Drilling, an oil drilling company, has donated 3,000 face masks to Cuba in the Island’s battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Aldo Grandal, head of the Ministry of Public Health’s International Relations Department, and Teresita Gonzalez, head of Medical Collaboration, thanked Great Wall Drilling for the donation.
The protective face masks have arrived in Havana and are to be delivered to the Salvador Allende Hospital.
Last week the Department of International Relations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China donated 6,000 N95 and 70,000 surgical masks.
The shipment, valued at more than $42,000, was delivered by the Chinese ambassador Chen Xi, and accepted by Angel Arzuaga, deputy head of the International Relations Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba.
China and Cuba have shared strong bilateral relations for decades.
