Iberostar Expands its Brand in Cuba

Iberostar Hotels & Resorts and the Cuban company AT Comercial S.A. have obtained permission from the highest executive body of the Cuban government to establish Logística Hotelera del Caribe (LHC), a public limited company and joint venture. In addition to these activities, Iberostar Hotels & Resorts has also expanded its hotel portfolio on the island, bringing the total number of Iberostar hotels currently to 22.

Iberostar has a 70% stake in the company, unique for Cuba. The company is located in the special development zone of Mariel in the north of the island, where a storage area of ​​20,000 m2 is available. With the aim of improving the quality standards of Cuban hotels, Iberostar has a company for the import of hotel supplies from 7 December 2018.

The newly established LHC will provide general logistic services, including import, wholesale and distribution of goods, as well as exports to major tourist resorts in Cuba. Initially, the company will focus on hotel supplies. In the start-up phase all Iberostar hotels will have access to 58 food products that are not present on the island until now.

In addition to this activity, Iberostar Hotels & Resorts has also expanded its hotel portfolio on the island, bringing the total number of Iberostar hotels currently to 22. Important projects in 2018 on the island are Iberostar Riviera and the opening in September of Iberostar Grand Packard. in Havana; as well as the opening in November of Iberostar Holguín. There is also an expansion in the Heritage Hotels segment, hotels with a unique character. Iberostar Casa Granda, Iberostar Imperial and Iberostar San Felix were added in Santiago de Cuba. In the eastern region of Holguín, the small boutique hotels in the town of Gibara complete the portfolio: Iberostar Ordoño, Iberostar Arsenita and Iberostar Plaza Colon. Iberostar Hotels & Resorts is expanding to expand the range of boutique hotels in Cuba that are ideal for touring.
