Measures to Ensure Quality and Continuity of Tourism Services in Cuba

Cuba’s Minister of Tourism, Juan Carlos García Granda, announced that the Ministry (MINTUR) is implementing a series of measures to maintain the quality and continuity of tourism services in light of the current energy challenges.

In a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the minister assured that, “we are prepared to face the challenges and guarantee that tourist activities develop normally.”

According to a statement from MINTUR, key tourist destinations including Cayo Largo, Cayo Santa María, Cayo Coco, Cayo Cruz, and Cayo Paredón have independent backup systems (generators), separate from the National Electric System.

Hotels and other tourism facilities are equipped with backup generators to guarantee a stable and reliable power supply. Energy-saving and efficiency measures have also been adopted to minimize any disruptions to operations and maintain a high level of service for guests.
