Teccomp Caribe, a Cuban-Russian joint venture approved at ZEDM

The Special Development Zone (ZEDM) made the announcement of the first Russia-Cuba joint venture, under the name, Teccomp Caribe, S.A. has received approval to operate in the ZEDM at the Port of Mariel.

Teccomp Caribe will manufacture and market polymers reinforced with glass fibers and resins.

The new joint venture is an alliance between the Russian company United Composite Technologies, and the Sociedad Mercantil Siment S.A. Modern technology will be used in the production of polymer which will complement the use of steel in the construction industry.

The Teccomp Caribe plant will use modern technology for the production of the polymer, whose effectiveness has already been proven in Cuba. Its advantages include durability, strength, lightweight, and anticorrosive properties.

In addition, Teccomp Caribe will offer technical advice, training for the use of these products, and the specialized software used in the projects and designs made with this material.

The establishment of Teccomp Caribe will help replace imports and produce a new exportable product, especially for the Caribbean market.
