The Central Bank of Cuba (Banco Central de Cuba) has launched a new five peso coin. The coin will be released into circulation on July 3rd.
The new five peso coin measures 24.70 millimeters in diameter with a gold center surrounded by a silver ring.
The coin shows the portrait of Cuban hero Antonio Maceo and the Cuban coat of arms on the other side. Also on the new coin, the slogan “Patria o Muerte,” and the year of creation of the coin.
The Cuban five CUC note will remain in circulation in Cuba.
