Spanish company Grupo TOT COLOR S.A, with its head office in the north of Spain, will begin operations in the Mariel Special Development Zone (ZEDM) this month.
TOT Color SA is a 100% foreign capital company, which was approved to locate in the Mariel Development Zone in January of 2017. In addition to the manufacturing plant in the ZEDM, the company has an office in Havana.
TOT Color SA is a leading paint brand manufacturer of technological paints for the automotive, decoration/construction industry sectors.
Once the construction of the administrative building is completed, TOT Colors will startup production.
The TOT warehouse embraces the use of modern technology and sustainable production including the efficient treatment of waste, the use of low water volumes, and other environmentally friendly standards.
Its major clients will include CIMEX, CUPET and TRANSTUR corporations, as well as other industrial sectors. TOT Color will also market its paint products to national consumers on the Island.
TOT Color SA will benefit from the incentives offered by locating in the Special Development Zone. Some of these benefits include reduced costs in container and raw material acquisition, and inclusion in the supply chain with other Cuban companies. Production of its paints will favor import replacement and technology transfer, according to the ZEDM website.
