The World Congress of Economic Management and Development opens today and runs until May 19th at the Palace of Conventions in Havana. Experts from Cuba and abroad will be attending. This Congress is organized by the National Association of Economists and Accountants of Cuba (ANEC).
The President of ANEC and the organizing committee, Oscar Luis Hung explained the Congress will focus special attention on issues relating to new approaches in financial and management accounting in conjunction with the practical application of the rules of monetary information.
The Congress will also present discuss the role of independent and governmental auditing; the effectiveness of public policies for public management and the concept of cooperativism for economic development. Also on the agenda to be discussed by financial experts are the new trends of managerial administration and management and how it impacts sustainable and socially responsible development.
Lectures and presentations will be given by both Cuban and international experts.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to attend workshops which take a look at such topics as the impact of the economic consultancy in the development of business management, the challenges for public policy in the current situation, globalization for development, and the advantages and disadvantages and trends of micro-financing. These workshops will cost 60 CUCs each.
Organizations and specialists from Germany, El Salvador, Mexico, Spain, and Ecuador and other nations are attending.
Entrance fees to the World Congress of Economic Management and Development are 237 Euros for delegates and lecturers pay 190.00 Euros. Group rates for the Congress are available at 76.00 Euros for each additional person in a group.
