Desoft and German Software Company Sign an MOU

Cuban IT company DeSoft and German company iSQI sign an MOU at the CyberSociety 2017 conference in Havana.

Cuba and Germany have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on software development.  The MOU agreement is between the Cuban technology company Desoft and the German corporation, International Software Quality Institute (iSQI GmbH). The signing took place during the International Congress on Information Technology Cybersociety 2017 conference currently taking place in Havana.

The International Software Quality Institute with headquarters in Potsdam, Germany, is a leading provider of certification examinations for IT professionals.

Desoft is a Cuban computer solutions company employing over 2,000 employees. The company offers services including the development, deployment and support of business management software solutions for human resources management, accounting and finance, energy resources, and business intelligence. It also provides specialized services for the assembly and administration of databases, computer networks and development of corporate web applications.

Stephan Georicke, director of iSQI, and Luis Guillermo Fernández Pérez, director of Desoft, signed the MOU.  The MOU involves securing the international certification of Cuban IT specialists in different processes of the software development lifecycle. For ISQI, it will gain the advantage of expanding its market in Cuba.

The agreement was also signed by the Cuban Union of Computer Scientists, UIC, and the BiocubaFarma technology group. The deal will facilitate the collaboration between iSQI and Desoft for future high tech training courses and events.

The Cybersociety 2017 event has attracted people and companies from overseas as well as those from the private sector in Cuba, state owned companies, academics and government representatives.

Cybersociety 2017 is a technology conference which covers everything from virtual health education, internet governance, ICT development, technology architecture, cyber security, software development, virtual education and emerging platforms.

Also on the agenda at Cybersociety 2071 was a presentation on the development of a high performance computer platform for biopharmaceuticals, discussions on infrastructure based on the Huawei experience in Cuba, data analytics, big data, democratic and inclusive governance.

Carlos de Castro, from Spain, executive president of the Multimedia Production Center for interactive television, spoke on the power of data analytics and cognitive intelligence applied to health, business and tourism.
