China has made a new donation to Cuba on Wednesday.
An Air China cargo plane touched down at José Martí International Airport loaded with a donation of 68 tons of rice from the People’s Republic of China on Wednesday, April 3. It is the first in a series of six shipments of rice and basic aid supplies that will arrive.
The cargo was received at José Martí airport by Luo Zhaohui, Director of the National International Development Cooperation Agency, Ambassador Ma Hui, Deputy Prime Minister Jorge Luis Tapia Fonseca, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba Rodriguez, Minister of Domestic Trade Betsy Díaz Velázquez, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment Deborah Rivas, as reported by the Cuban and Chinese news agencies.
Luo Zhaohui emphasized that, “China and Cuba are good friends, close brothers, dear companions. The attendance is a living example of special friendship. China will continue to support Cuba to overcome temporary difficulties, build a community of shared future China-Cuba.”
The food donation will be distributed to those in need.
