China’s Yutong Expands in Cuba

Zhengzhou Yutong Bus Co., Ltd., (Yutong) one of the leading bus and coach supplier companies in the world, is expanding in Cuba. Yutong has been operating in Cuba since 2005 and contributing to Cuba’s transportation infrastructure since then.

Yutong has sales in over 30 countries and regions such as France, UK, Australia, Venezuela, Russia, Saudi Arabia, China Macau, China Taiwan as well as Cuba.  The company has a market share of over 30% in China and 15% globally.

Xiao Song Chen, Customer Services Specialist at Yutong, told the Cuban press that the Company is currently managing new joint contracts and agreements with its established Cuban business partners.

He also added that more than 8,000 buses are currently in use on the Island and predicted higher numbers because of the new contracts signed with the tourism companies Transtur, Transgaviota and the Transmetro company.

Cuba is the first country in Latin America to import Yutong buses. Xiao said the company had a special understanding of the Cuban market and the Island is considered a strategic market in the region.

Yutong is well-equipped to service vehicle repairs as well as supply spare parts at its warehouse on the Island.

Yutong buses are currently in use for urban, inter-provincial and airport transportation.

China is currently Cuba’s largest trade partner.
