The Vice Premier of China, He Lifeng, and the Vice Premier of Cuba, Ricardo Cabrisas, have reaffirmed the commitment to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
Cabrisas is on a working visit to China as co-chair the 30th Session of the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic, Commercial and Financial Relations.
According to a press release, the Commission will continue strengthening bilateral ties. Furthermore, it presents an occasion to examine and discuss topics of common interest, scientific-technical matters and collaborative efforts.
Within the framework of Session, the Cuban Embassy held a seminar to promote new opportunities and incentives for investment to approximately 100 entrepreneurs from different sectors.
During the meetings, VP He Lifeng spoke of President Miguel Díaz-Canel’s visit to China in 2022 where he met with President Xi Jinping, and again, at the BRICS Summit in South Africa last August.
The meetings between He and Cabrisas have reaffirmed the strong links between the two nations. China and Cuba will continue to work together to strengthen those ties.
Cabrisas also congratulated China on the success of recently concluded Belt and Road Forum.
He reconfirmed Havana’s support for the global initiatives promoted by Xi, as well as the willingness to work together with Beijing to build a community of shared destiny for humanity.
The Agenda:
As part of his agenda, Cabrisas visited the facilities of the joint venture Biotech Pharmaceutical Limited in Beijing. He also toured the headquarters of the JD e-commerce platform and met the advisor of the company, Li Ge. Additionally, Cabrisas spoke with Zhang Jianmin, president of the State Tobacco Monopoly.
Cabrisas also met with government officials in the province of Shanxi where he visited four companies including the construction of site of a research and development and production facilities of a Biotech joint venture.
Cabrisas met with officials and employees at the Cuban embassy and the representative offices in Beijing.
