The second batch of China’s donation of electrical equipment to Cuba has arrived by air.
The donation by China of electrical equipment arrived on an Air China cargo plane at Havana’s Jose Marti airport last night.
This is the second batch of electrical support system parts and equipment made possible through a project known as the “Distributed Electric Generator Equipment and Spare Parts” project.
The first shipment of equipment weighed 69 tons and included radiators, engines and other accessories.
No sooner had the first shipment arrived, the Chinese Ambassador to Cuba HuaXin stated that they had “repaired a generator, the first of many, to recover distributed generation in Cuba. Only 24Hs (hours) after arrival of donated equipment!”
Again, this is excellent news for Cuba which is experiencing a continuing problem with electricity generation resulting in island-wide blackouts.
China has provided massive donations and assistance to Cuba throughout their long historical relationship. The long-term relationship has led to immense cooperation in many of the prominent sectors of the economy.
